Expressive Therapist Opportunity: Full-time As the only free-standing psychiatric hospital in the Central Kentucky area, we are here to help. Please join our team as we expand our services to meet the needs of our community. The Ridge Behavioral Health System is a 110-bed hospital located in the heart of the Bluegrass, Lexington, KY. The Ridge provides psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment for children, adolescents, and adults. The Ridge offers Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient Programs, Individual Counseling, as well as Medication Management for all ages. We have provided behavioral health services to over 92 Kentucky counties for more than 39 years. The Ridge Behavioral Health System is a 110-bed hospital offering psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment for children, adolescents, and adults. https://ridgebhs.com The Expressive Therapist is responsible for developing and implementing various aspects of the expressive therapy program based upon each units needs and demographics. Follows and abides by company policies, procedures, and Corporate Compliance Program, as applicable to role and responsibilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Music Therapy OR Master's Degree in Art or Education required.
- Board certification (MT-BC) or eligibility to sit for national exam conducted through the Certification Board for Music Therapist (CBMT) licensure OR LPATA with supervision or LPAT/ATR-BC required.
- Crisis intervention training required. This training also offered upon hire.
- CPR required. This training also offered upon hire.
- Previous mental health experience preferred.
- Inpatient experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements Recreation Therapy treatment plans in conjunction with and attends the interdisciplinary treatment team meetings.
- Provides therapy consistent with level of growth, development, age, and functioning.
- Provides therapy consistent with overall treatment goals.
- Completes Recreation Therapy section of the treatment plan within 72 hours of admission for assigned patients.
- Completes progress notes for assigned patients.
