About The Position

Crittenton Children's Center is the Kansas City area's premier provider of psychiatric care for children, adolescents and their families. It is located on a picturesque, 96 acre campus in south Kansas City (near Longview Lake) providing serenity, beauty and privacy to assist with the healing process. We are currently seeking a full time Exercise Therapist. This position provides exercise, fitness and recreation consistent with the treatment needs of pre-ad and adolescent patients and coordinating programs for patients through participation in the multidisciplinary treatment team. The role includes creating and implementing community integration outings, conducting fitness testing, and educating patients on nutrition, diet, healthy living, exercise, and safe use of equipment. The shift is mostly Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, with occasional evenings and weekends to support special events and outings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (exercise, fitness, physical education, kinesiology).
• Relevant certification (CTRS, Trauma Informed Fitness Certificate, Certified Personal Trainer, ISSA, or NASM).
• 1 - 3 years of experience working with at-risk youth.
• Must have a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provides exercise, fitness and recreation consistent with the treatment needs of pre-ad and adolescent patients.
• Coordinates programs for patients through participation in the multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Follows programs, completes assessments, documents behavior, and progress.
• Creates and implements community integration outings.
• Conducts fitness testing.
• Educates patients on nutrition, diet, healthy living, exercise, and safe use of equipment.
