About The Position

Friends Hospital is the nation's oldest private psychiatric hospital, located on a beautiful 100-acre campus in Philadelphia, PA. Friends Hospital offers a continuum of care including level of care assessments; specially designed inpatient units for adolescents, adults, and older adults; and a private residential rehabilitation program. Friends Hospital is easily accessed via public transportation and has free, safe, on-site parking. POSITION SUMMARY: Performs duties and responsibilities as required as a member of the Treatment Team in delivering direct patient care services. Under the direction of the Director of Recreational Therapy creates a therapeutic milieu on the inpatient service; plans and coordinates the implementation of specific treatment programs for individual patients and patient groups; assures the application of age-appropriate expressive therapies modalities to group or individual treatment; identifies and utilizes specific theoretical framework to guide and integrate care within the milieu; organizes and coordinates or directs unit-based psychotherapeutic services delivered in a group (milieu) context; contributes to the development and implementation of treatment plans & goals as determined by the unit team; functions as a member of the Clinical Services team. Participates in the support of patient care through indirect care functions including clerical duties; participates in Performance Improvement and in-service education; oversees the coordination and conduct of clinical affiliations for expressive therapies students; supports development, customer service and community relations activities.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Expressive Therapy, preferred. Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Expressive Therapy.
  • 3-5 years’ direct clinical experience in behavioral health facility.
