Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital (LBHH) is a 126-bed, inpatient psychiatric hospital and start-up joint venture between Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine and Universal Health Services. In addition to a general adult unit and dedicated adolescent unit, the facility offers services for treating those with co-occurring disorders on the psychiatric-medical unit, an intensive adult unit to care for those with severe conditions, as well as a women’s trauma unit. Expressive Arts Therapists are responsible for completing the following duties and tasks: Develop and implement expressive therapy treatment plans that are age appropriate, and consistent with overall treatment goals. Facilitates patient groups that are well prepared and beneficial to clients. Maintain the clinical and administrative documentation associated with performed services. Consistently engages and interacts with our patients and their families by using the treatment principles of Trauma Responsive Care, as demonstrated by the following: A basic recognition of the characteristic symptoms resulting from exposure to trauma, 2. Having an understanding of and sensitivity to the triggers of trauma and trauma re-enactment, 3. Incorporating relevant skill sets into daily interactions with patients and families, and 4. Participates in continuing education on Trauma Responsive Care and Recovery. Effectively contribute to treatment planning of patients. Effectively contribute to discharge planning of patients.
