About The Position

Objective: Create an exceptional customer experience in our retail store through solving customer problems, by creating hose assemblies and/or finding the parts and products to meet their needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Customer service experience
  • Technical or mechanical aptitude
  • Hands-on technical or mechanical aptitude
  • Self-Starter, task driven, detail oriented
  • Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, hose, fittings and/or pipe threads (preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Basic mathematical and reasoning skills
  • General understanding of the principles of sales
  • Experience with customer service.  Engaging customers and making them feel welcome in our stores and confident they will get the right solution for their problems
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to load and unload trucks with attention to safety and product quality
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle during business hours

Nice To Haves

  • familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, hose, and fittings and/or pipe threads a plus

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers purchasing hydraulic and pneumatic products and parts through familiarity and knowledge of products
  • Create an exceptional customer experience through friendly and knowledgeable engagement with the customer
  • Identify the type of hose and fittings the customer needs. Cut, fit and assemble hose and fittings and inspect completed assemblies
  • Use a variety of hand tools (wrench, hammer, handsaw, pneumatic wrench, hand grinder, power drill, calipers) and shop equipment (hose crimp machine, reusable hose assembly equipment, hose test machine, hose cut off saw, grinder, forklift, hydraulic shop press, welder, acetylene torch, pressure washer, drill press, band saw, parts cleaner)
  • Identify other items the customer may need
  • Use creative solutions to meet customer needs
  • Prepare sales or work orders, both manually and computer generated
  • Ensure proper inventory by counting, reordering, or shipping materials
  • Support distribution sales, which includes fulfilling non-store sales
  • Travel to customers to perform delivery and inventory for bin stocking accounts
  • Maintain general work area and shop equipment in a clean, neat, safe manner
  • Perform other related duties as required
