As the Express Mortgage Originator at our Melbourne Headquarters you will utilize your knowledge of mortgage products and a consultative-based needs analysis to fit applicants in a product that best meets their needs. This position assists in the application and processing of mortgage loans. Express Mortgage Originators are also responsible for monitoring and communicating with the applicant and internal support departments throughout the processing and closing phases of the application. Requirements

• 1–3 years of related experience in residential lending, including first mortgage or second mortgage origination, processing, underwriting, or servicing required.
• A high school diploma education or GED.
• You must have the ability to obtain NMLS licensing/registration within the first eight weeks of initial employment. The NMLS license/registration is required for this position.
• Bilingual English/Spanish Required

Responsibilities

• Receives and responds to mortgage leads and inquiries from multiple channels, including internet applications, phone, email, and referrals from the outside mortgage officer, builders, and real estate agents.
• Accurately inputs application data into Credit Union systems, obtains required documentation, and provides timely follow-up throughout the loan process.
• Conducts consultative needs assessments with applicants to recommend appropriate mortgage products and cross-sell other Credit Union products and services when beneficial
• Maintains an organized pipeline to ensure loans progress efficiently from application through closing, meeting all production and service level expectations.
• Collaborates closely with underwriting, processing, and closing teams to ensure a smooth and timely loan process.
• Understands mortgage lending criteria, credit bureau models, and relevant compliance requirements to make informed recommendations and escalate approvals when appropriate.
