About The Position

The Lube Technician at Hendrick Toyota Concord is responsible for performing express lube duties on vehicles, adhering to express lube guidelines. This role involves performing lube, oil, and filter changes, lubricating various joints, and reporting necessary repairs to the service advisor. The technician also checks and refills fluid levels for battery, tires, windshield, transmission, power steering, and coolant, ensuring the vehicle is clean before release. Key responsibilities include maintaining CSI standards, an organized and safe work area, participating in required training, and accurately recording hours. Requirements

  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Basic knowledge of automotive parts and systems.
  • Demonstrable mechanical skills and knowledge.
  • Technical training or commensurate technical experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Basic Computer skills to utilize timekeeping system.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations.
  • Ability to understand and follow technical manuals.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Up to 3 years of work experience in the automotive field.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to express lube guidelines.
  • Performs lube, oil and filter changes by draining and replacing oil and filter, and lubricating all joints, including idler arm steering knuckles, tie rods ends and ball joints.
  • Reports all necessary repairs to service advisor.
  • Installs completed LOF reminder sticker in vehicle.
  • Checks battery, tire air pressure, windshield fluid, transmission fluid and power steering fluid levels and refills as needed.
  • Checks coolant level and refills as necessary.
  • Ensures that vehicle is clean and free of fluid residue or fingerprints.
  • Checks fluid level prior to release of vehicle to ensure proper levels.
  • Maintains CSI at or above Company standards.
  • Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area.
  • Participates in required training.
  • Records all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system.
  • Follows Safeguards rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrates the Company’s Core Values.
  • Complies with Company policies and procedures.
  • Observes all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.
