About The Position

In this role, you will lead the express service team, ensuring vehicles move quickly through the lane while maintaining high-quality, accurate service. As Express Lane Manager, you’ll play a key role in driving urgency and efficiency within the service department. You will oversee daily operations, coach and motivate your team, and implement processes that keep workflow smooth and profitable. Requirements

  • Proven experience in automotive service, preferably in express or quick-turn operations.
  • Strong technical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and the ability to understand and oversee common service procedures.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and organizational skills to drive team performance.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and results-oriented with a strong drive to improve processes and throughput.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with dealership service processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate express lane technicians to maintain fast, accurate service.
  • Manage daily express lane operations, prioritizing speed, workflow, and throughput.
  • Monitor technician productivity and adjust staffing or workflow to prevent delays.
  • Ensure all services are completed efficiently without sacrificing quality or safety.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce wait times, and maximize revenue.
  • Collaborate with service and parts teams to keep the lane running smoothly.
  • Step in to support other service department areas as needed, including assisting or managing when other managers are off.
  • Take initiative to address operational gaps or issues outside of the express lane scope without direct instruction.
  • Coach and mentor team members across the service department when opportunities arise.
  • Maintain flexibility to handle additional duties as required to ensure smooth department operations.
