About The Position
The Express Activity Leader at Lincoln Heights Elementary School is a part-time position that plays a crucial role in the Express Childcare Program. This position involves implementing a structured schedule of activities and events for school-age children before and after school hours. The leader will be responsible for ensuring the proper care and maintenance of the facilities used in the program, supervising all enrolled children, and assisting the Express site director in developing engaging programs and activities. The role requires maintaining accurate records and carrying out positive discipline as established by the program coordinator. Additional duties may be assigned as needed to support the program's objectives. The position operates on a split schedule, with hours from 6:30 to 8:50 a.m. and 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., totaling five hours per day during the school year, which spans 193 days over 10 months. The anticipated start date for this role is aligned with the 2024-2025 school year. Candidates must meet specific licensing requirements and complete a STARS profile, which is essential for the Activity Leader position. The role demands a demonstrated ability to work effectively with elementary students and requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience in a school setting or a similar youth program is preferred, along with education in child development or a related field. The position also necessitates ongoing training and certifications, including CPR and first aid, to ensure the safety and well-being of the children in the program.
