About The Position

The Exposure Scientist position at ExxonMobil Biomedical Sciences, Inc. (EMBSI) involves working collaboratively with health and environmental teams to evaluate exposures and risks associated with ExxonMobil products and operations. The role requires providing strategic guidance in exposure science, advancing methodologies for product evaluation, and leading technical initiatives within professional organizations. The successful candidate will contribute to the scientific dialogue through presentations and publications, while also being part of a diverse team focused on health, environmental, and product safety solutions.

Requirements

  • Broad experience and a graduate degree in exposure sciences, industrial hygiene, occupational and environmental hygiene, engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong working knowledge of exposure assessment and engineering control approaches, models, and statistics to assess risk.
  • Interest in expanding knowledge across all areas of human health risk assessment.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills, with the ability to interpret scientific information for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, multiple-priority environment with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with other scientists.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with human health risk assessment principles.
  • Experience with cumulative, co-exposures, and/or multi-pathway risk assessment.
  • Familiarity with epidemiology, prevention through design, quantitative risk assessment, and/or life cycle approaches.
  • Knowledge of exposure models, data analytics, informatics, machine learning, and statistical approaches for risk assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate worker, consumer, and community exposures and risks associated with ExxonMobil products and operations.
  • Provide strategic guidance in all aspects of exposure science to inform business decisions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to advance methodologies for evaluating ExxonMobil products and processes.
  • Lead technical initiatives within professional organizations to advance risk assessment methodologies.
  • Present findings at technical conferences and publish in peer-reviewed literature.
