About The Position

Export & Logistics Specialist – Chattanooga, TN Full time, exempt position What we do: Southern Cellulose Products, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of ADM, processes cotton linters into pure cellulose fiber and ships these products to customers around the world via containers. The processed cellulose is derived of a natural fiber and is the raw material for products that go into construction, personal care, paints, ink, lacquers, automotive applications, and high end art. At ADM, our purpose is to unlock the power of nature, to enrich the quality of life. Position Summary: The position will report to Sales Manager and will work with Commercial Sales, Shipping, Operations, and the Customers and will be responsible for execution of export shipments and for executing the documentation required for these shipments. In addition, will be involved in trading and logistics of linters from oil mills and cotton tailings merchandising from the plant.

Requirements

  • 4 year degree and relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of education.
  • Personal computer skills required, with exposure to Microsoft Office software a must.
  • Strong attention to detail necessary.
  • Able to keep up with pace of business and be able to fill in for all roles in the commercial team

Nice To Haves

  • Logistics and trading experience preferred.
  • Experience with export documentation or container shipments a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and align with Company procedures, processes, and business systems protocols.
  • Work in a team environment with all co-workers to achieve a high level of employee commitment and morale.
  • Review purchase orders and enter contracts.
  • Create Shipping orders and work to secure container bookings and data entry with the bookings.
  • Responsible to help prepare and deliver proper documentation such as packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and commercial invoices after vessels have shipped to customer.
  • Develop a clear understanding of document requirements for export shipments to different countries.
  • Update customers and commercial team on vessel changes.
  • Be involved in weekly sales meetings and develop solid understanding of customers and the products they purchase.
  • Line up freight for raw material for plant.
  • Be involved with managing relationships to purchase linters from outside market.
  • Back up for merchandising the cotton tailings when traders are travelling.
  • Back up shipping department and domestic shipments and invoicing when needed.
  • Accountable for additional office projects, as assigned.
  • Office records manager.
