As a Supervisor, Export Distribution at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the flawless execution of our export packing and distribution operations.   • Coordinate staff and workload to meet or exceed distribution efficiency standards for processing and shipping international orders.
  • Develop daily work schedules based on workload demands.
  • Coordinate all warehouse activities to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Conduct yearly performance reviews and feedback sessions to discuss metrics and performance-related issues before they advance.
  • Recommend and develop ideas for improvement in operating methods and procedures.
  • Resolve problems as they arise and make recommendations to improve warehouse layout, workflow, operating costs, and customer service.
  • Seek approval from the Director of Logistics Operations and other relevant management personnel.
  • Support internal and external customer requirements.
  • A bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or any field related to export/import.
  • 5+ years of experience in export and international transportation (air/ocean) is helpful.
  • 1+ year of experience leading a successful team.
  • Knowledge and experience with packing and shipping hazardous materials and temperature-controlled goods are preferred.
  • Experience with multiple functions within the distribution center, including Inbound (receiving), Production, Packing, and Shipping Departments.
  • Experience coordinating loads with carriers and maintaining adequate supply levels.
  • Essential skills include mentoring and empowering employees, effective communication with various levels of staff, and a customer-centric approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment.
  • HazMat Certified or experience with HazMat goods.
  • Understanding of regulatory and export compliance.
  • Skill in handling performance metrics and leading all aspects of the operational budget.
  • Experience with Practical Process Improvement, Lean, or similar methodologies.
  • Understanding and experience in Safety protocols.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
