About The Position

The Expo / Host plays a critical role in maintaining both guest experience and service flow within the restaurant. This position supports the front of house by welcoming guests and managing seating while also coordinating food execution between the kitchen and service team. This role requires strong communication, organization, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Strong verbal communication and phone etiquette
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand for at least 4 hours per shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Team-oriented mindset and ability to work well with others
  • Basic knowledge of Department of Health standards

Nice To Haves

  • Prior customer service or restaurant experience
  • High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests promptly as they enter the restaurant and provide a welcoming first impression.
  • Manage the waitlist, take reservations, and answer incoming phone calls.
  • Quote accurate wait times and manage guest expectations.
  • Escort guests to their tables while maintaining balanced seating for servers.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable lobby and entry area.
  • Assist with guest questions and ensure a positive experience from arrival through seating.
  • Complete assigned host side work prior to the end of the shift.
  • Ensure smooth communication between the kitchen and service staff.
  • Monitor ticket flow and ensure orders are prepared and delivered in the correct order.
  • Verify plates are properly garnished, complete, and presentable before leaving the kitchen.
  • Coordinate with servers to ensure timely food delivery to guests.
  • Run food to tables when necessary to support service.
  • Ensure sauces, garnishes, and necessary supplies are stocked at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expo station and kitchen pass.
  • Assist with closing duties including breaking down containers and cleaning the line.
  • Maintain Department of Health and food safety standards.
  • Work collaboratively with servers, kitchen staff, and management.
  • Assist with additional duties as assigned by management to support restaurant operations.
