We are seeking a gracious, thoughtful, and motivated part-time Expo/Food Runner who can create a sense of luxury while engaging with guests in a fast-paced environment. EXPO Position Summary: This position is for one veteran employee who will be the sole person responsible for tracking where in process all orders are from the Front of House (FOH) side of the line. This role requires a strong understanding of our menu and how items are presented. Strong communication skills are a must. FOOD RUNNER Position Summary: The FOOD RUNNERS handle food delivery for the whole restaurant including dining room and lounge, and if available can help with delivery of in room dining and hotel amenities. IN-ROOM-DINING Position Summary: The IN ROOM DINING SERVER is responsible for set up and delivery of all in room dining orders. Additionally, between 3-4pm, they are responsible for delivering all hotel amenities.

Requirements

  • Ability to work occasional long hours.
  • Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally. And/or 50 pounds of force frequently an/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to stand continuously for duration of shift (6-8 hours a day)
  • Ability to walk/run continuously for duration of shift (6-8 hours a day)
  • Ability to work in stressful situations
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Six months related experience preferred.
  • Must have completed the Responsible Beverage Service training & ABC exam
  • Excellent command of English language

Responsibilities

  • Follow 5 Diamond/Star levels of service.
  • Ensure levels of stock and supplies needed are maintained.
  • Complete daily paperwork as needed for the department.
  • Must be knowledgeable on the menu and items used in the preparation of dishes.
  • Ensure all orders are complete and correct before delivery.
  • Have an above average knowledge of wines and spirits.
  • Follow all hotel procedures according to handbook and rating guidelines.
  • Provide information as required.
  • Handles guests' requests without transferring guest calls to other areas.
  • Makes manager aware of any guest's comments or complaints.
  • Polish silverware during downtime
  • Do rollups during downtime.
  • Perform any other job-related task as directed.
  • Follow procedures for delivery to a guest room
  • Assists the host in clearing trays from hallways and hallway service areas.
  • Attends and contribute input to staff meetings.
  • Assists in emergency and security procedures as directed by management and the established emergency plan.
  • Stock the line with all supplies for the shift (condiments, to go containers, etc.)
  • Keep the line clean, sanitizing before, during and after the shift
  • Taking direction from the Expo as to where finished orders need to be delivered (front, IRD, or tables)
  • Asking the guests if there is anything else that they need and then getting it for them, ensuring great guest experience
  • Stay in communication with Expo and IRD as to any needs
  • Assist IRD when needed
  • In the morning if there is no host, this position will do a hall run(s) at 11am or as directed by a manager
  • Print cheque and ensure it goes with the correct order and has a signature upon delivery
  • Set up and prep orders for delivery including condiments, garnishes and salt/pepper
  • Ensure timely delivery of correct order
  • Maintain signed cheques in a neat and concise manner to be delivered back to the host stand for the host to close out
  • Deliver all amenities between 3-4pm, making sure any cards that are to be delivered with orders go to the correct room
  • Get the host a complete list of all amenities to be entered into silverware at the beginning of the shift
