About The Position

H&G Explosives is seeking a dependable and safety-focused individual to join our team as a General Laborer supporting blasting and explosives operations. This hands-on position plays a critical role in maintaining safe, compliant, and efficient job sites. The ideal candidate is hardworking, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in physically demanding outdoor environments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in construction, mining, quarrying, or general labor preferred.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting 50+ pounds regularly.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions.
  • Strong commitment to safety and willingness to follow detailed procedures.
  • Ability to pass required pre-employment screenings and background checks.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain required certifications (e.g., MSHA training, explosives safety training) as applicable.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in construction, mining, quarrying, or general labor preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist blasting crews with daily job site setup and breakdown.
  • Perform general site clean-up to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Support loading and unloading of equipment, materials, and blasting supplies in accordance with safety regulations.
  • Assist with handling, staging, and transporting materials under direct supervision and in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Help prepare blast sites, including clearing debris, placing mats, and assisting with drill site readiness.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tools, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Act as a spotter or ground support for heavy equipment operations as needed.
  • Follow strict safety protocols, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain clear communication with crew members and supervisors.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support safe and productive operations.
