About The Position

We are excited to announce an opportunity at Orica for an Explosives Blaster within our Orica USA Commercial team. The Explosives Blaster is responsible for the daily loading and firing of blasts and providing support, mentoring, and developing the skills of the team to meet the needs of mining services in accordance with agreed goals for the business. This position requires building customer relationships and working at customers' sites for Orica to provide products or services and promote the organization through safe, professional, and efficient contact with the customer.Work schedule Monday through Friday Local driving (1-5 hours) Early morning starts at 3 AM Approximately 10-12 hours per day Overtime may be needed Up to 10% of overnight travel may be required

Requirements

Minimum 1-3 plus years of blasting experience, including demonstrated blasting talent
Knowledge of both non-electric and electronic detonators, along with experience with both packaged and bulk explosives
Good knowledge and understanding of mining, quarry, and construction regulations
Basic computer skills

Nice To Haves

Wisconsin blaster license preferred
Experience in quarry blasting is required

To deliver the total load service operational requirements to the volume, service type, and quality specified by the business and/or marketing to satisfy customer expectations
Ensuring compliance with quality specifications
Assisting in establishing and maintaining quality assurance procedures
Maximizing asset utilization and availability within agreed customer service levels
Contributing to project scopes with customer and site managers
Attend the mine's daily planning meetings as required
This role does require the individual to be flexible around priorities, as these may change rapidly
