About The Position

This is a remote/virtual position. Candidate can be based anywhere within the United States. Overview: The Sargent & Lundy Consulting (SLC) group provides comprehensive technical, financial, and strategic advisory services for energy sector clients. Our clients include utilities, independent power producers (IPPs), project developers, lenders, investors, government agencies, and system operators. We evaluate and optimize technical, commercial, environmental, and financial aspects of portfolios and projects for a variety of clients. Responsibilities: In this role, you will provide development support, strategic planning, expert consulting, conceptual design and engineering design oversight within the SLC project portfolio in support of power projects. You will also have the opportunity to support and lead project economic and cost analysis, risk assessments, and contracting strategies. Your responsibilities will include preparing project implementation strategies and plans, expert consulting, owner’s engineering reviews, technical due diligence, process improvement evaluations, project development support, and conceptual planning. Qualifications We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.

Requirements

  • This position requires a BS in engineering from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program with a strong academic background.
  • 15 or more years of experience in the energy/power industry
  • Experience with electric utilities, IPPs, or energy project development.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in technical due diligence and owner’s engineering design reviews of power projects is a plus.
  • Detailed understanding of power station operations and performance reviews is a plus.
  • Detailed understanding of electric utility business processes and operations.
  • Economic, cost analysis, and contract development experience is a plus.
