About The Position

JTG is currently seeking Expert Level Translators in various languages for remote work. The role involves providing accurate translations, transcriptions, and summaries of foreign language text, audio, and video material into English. Translators will be expected to communicate fluently in English, adhere to designated style and quality standards, and apply a translation methodology to handle a wide variety of complex texts. The position requires the ability to post-edit machine translations for accuracy and completeness, as well as to translate abstract language and capture socio-economic elements in text. Additionally, translators will use domain-specific technical terminology and develop reference materials such as glossaries and style guides. The role also includes reviewing the quality of other translators' work.

Requirements

• Able to pass translation performance test at ILR 5
• Proficient in reading, listening to, and comprehending foreign languages at an advanced professional capability of ILR 5 in the source language
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and the Internet
• Human Language Technology (HLT) Skills including Computer Assisted Translation (CAT) and adaptive machine translation tools

Nice To Haves

• In depth knowledge of source language regionalisms, slang, colloquialisms, and dialect

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate translations, transcriptions, and summaries of foreign language text, audio and video material into English

• Apply a translation methodology to translate a wide variety of complex texts that contain difficult, abstract, idiomatic, highly technical, and colloquial writing
• Post-edit Machine Translations for accuracy and completeness
• Translate abstract language and nuance and capture Socio-Economic elements in text
• Use domain-specific technical terminology
• Use and develop reference materials such as glossaries, style guides, and translation memories
• Review the quality of other translators' work
