About The Position

We are looking for an Expert DevOps Engineer (f/m/d) in the area of Platform Engineering Team within Technology & Engineering unit of Sovereign Cloud Delivery & Operations team in the Product Engineering board area. This is a hybrid role, located in Reston, VA, with the expectations of working in the office three days a week. In this role, you will join the Platform Engineering, and by relied upon to provide high level of technical expertise in building, hardening, and operating the interal SAP Sovereign Cloud environments used as reference by the regional Operations teams. You will help build, maintain, and deliver Sovereign Cloud products to customers aiming at functional completeness, streamlined deployments, and smooth operation. You will be working closely with technical product managers, engineers and architects with a focus on the Gardener infrastructure and BTP product suite. You will engage closely with Operations colleagues, Security, as well as the different engineering teams.

Requirements

University degree in computer science, engineering or similar
10+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role.
Expert proficiency with Git, Terraform, Kubernetes, and other infrastructure automation toolsets.
Deep expertise with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and an in-depth understanding of their offerings.
Significant experience in network, server, and application-status monitoring.
Proven ability to lead and improve software-automation production systems.
Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Comprehensive understanding of scalable computing systems.
Excellent communication skills and ability to explain protocol and processes with team and management.
Expertise in scripting languages Python and Bash.
Robust knowledge of cloud security protocols and best practices.
A history of setting up, managing, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines.
Due to the classified nature of our work, your willingness is required to subject yourself to a governmental security clearance process and thus have an EU, NATO or FIVE EYES country member nationality.
