Position Overview: This role will support Experiential Marketing programs spanning Ferguson’s multiple residential and non-residential customer groups. Ferguson is searching for an experienced marketing strategist to support experiential programming aimed to attract, retain and grow the specialized trade professional. This position is cross-functional and works closely with internal and external partners to produce best-in-class customer experiences. The Experiential Marketing Specialist will support a wide range of marketing tactics related to event programming including in-store events, roadshow tours, customer summits, industry-based engagement trips and incentive trips. Location: This role is approved to be either Remote within the United States or Hybrid for associates in Newport News, VA, in accordance with company policy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or business-related field preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant marketing experience highly preferred; or equivalent work experience considered
  • Demonstrated understanding of Ferguson’s trade industries served and customer types preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within a cross-functional team environment
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
  • Capable of working on multiple events simultaneously without compromising on quality and on-time delivery
  • Experience managing program deliverables to budget
  • Proficiency in MS Office a must; Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, Teams, PowerBI etc.
  • Familiarity with, or excitement to learn and work in platforms such as Cvent, Airtable, and Canva

Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of Ferguson’s experiential programs in order to effectively support program needs
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Marketing Strategy, Brand Creative, Category Management and the Customer Groups to ensure proper alignment of event strategy with business objectives, messaging priorities and brand positioning
  • Draft creative briefs for support deliverables including print materials, promotional items, banners and signage, email assets, digital content and sales enablement
  • Develop relationships with external vendors ensuring high-quality delivery of required services
  • Maintain event calendars, project plans, run-of-show documents, and kick-off meeting materials keeping stakeholders aligned and informed
  • Create Cvent event websites to support registration requirements while ensuring consistent, on-brand presentation of events
  • Manage vendor sponsor engagement for assigned programs ensuring comprehensive, detailed communications to maximize sponsorship offerings for mutual benefit
  • Coordinate travel and accommodation needs for programs in partnership with our Corporate Travel, Meetings & Events department approved third-party support partners as needed
  • Manage event logistics for execution according to established run-of-show ensuring on-time and on-budget execution
  • Partner with field hosts and Regional Marketing Business Partners to activate programming in local markets
  • Provide on-site event management support as needed including set-up and tear-down coordination, registration, catering, audio-visual coordination, and session check-in
  • Assist in the creation of surveys and results tracking to measure participant sentiment
  • Measure, review and report outcome of initiatives using appropriate metrics
  • Create and maintain relevant intranet pages for comprehensive internal communications (Pipeline/SharePoint)
  • Assist in management of program budgets by tracking expenses, requesting POs, submitting invoices and ensuring adherence to strict program budgets
  • Promote and maintain corporate identity, brand and design standards, and the enterprise value proposition expanding brand recognition and awareness of Ferguson and value-add capabilities and services
  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times ensuring best-in-class customer experience
  • Abide by all policies, rules, and regulations of the company including all applicable safety rules, regulations and procedures
