The Experiential Events Manager creates and leads Boyne Mountain's unique resort events, themed parties, and brand activations that wow guests while boosting our bottom line. This role requires a creative mind who can deliver remarkable experiences, handle limited convention services, drive attendance growth, and manage budgets effectively. Success demands strong cross-departmental collaboration—working with all resort divisions, and regularly with Food & Beverage, Marketing, and Resort Operations to ensure every event perfectly captures our spirit. Requirements

  • Associates degree, certificate, or higher in related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience with special events and/or meeting planning.
  • In-depth knowledge of Boyne Mountain Resort operations preferred but not required.
  • Able to work and thrive in a fast-paced, highly-collaborative team environment.
  • Positive attitude with willingness to learn new skills.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience working in the Adobe Creative Suite or Canva, and Salesforce/Delphi is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Enjoy working in an outdoor mountain setting with varying weather.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for resort events while contributing to the overall division, resort, and corporate goals/initiatives.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of resort events from concept to execution to evaluation.
  • Maintain focus on enriching existing events that inspire our team, engage our guests, and grow participation.
  • Create comprehensive event production timelines with clear milestones and responsibilities corresponding with the Director of Convention Services throughout the process.
  • Collaborate with resort department leaders, including leading planning meetings, to ensure each division is informed and prepared to communicate event plans and coordinate execution.
  • Build relationships with event vendors and clients serving as the main point of contact.
  • Partner with Marketing on concept development, sponsor integrations, goal establishment, and branding alignment.
  • Review and approve website event pages prior to going 'live' to ensure accurate event details and communicating changes as needed.
  • Collaborate with Food & Beverage on menu development, staffing, and service planning.
  • Work with Mountain & Resort Operations divisions on logistics, space planning, and equipment needs.
  • Coordinate with Resort Safety for security planning and emergency protocols.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Food & Beverage leaders to procure event sponsorships/partners and appropriate swag, logo apparel, signage, etc.
  • Ensure all events have proper vendor agreements with certificates of insurance and participant waivers. Consult with Resort Safety and Risk Management as needed.
  • Assist Convention Services team by working with group contacts to plan & execute Convention Services events during resort event downtimes.
  • Accountable for department budget development and management, actively monitoring expenses, increasing revenue and opportunities to increase overall efficiency and performing an ROI review for each event.
  • Provide superior service to all customers (internal and external).
  • Think Long-Term operationally by being proactive and considering opportunities to improve the department as well as the team members, mitigate risk of all, and provide a safe working environment.
  • Ensure Excellence in Execution by leading and collaborating on resort event development, ensuring standards are met or exceeded; and contributing to the overall resort and corporate goals/initiatives.
