About The Position

VCA McClave Animal Hospital is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Client Service Representative/Receptionist to join our team, part-time. Compensation ranges between $18 - $23 (per hour), and this rate is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials. We are a busy, General Practice/Urgent Care hospital with multiple doctors and a wide range of presenting cases. The right candidate will be able to multi-task, thrive in a fast-paced environment, be empathetic, consistent and responsive to our clients, advocate for our patients and work cohesively with the team to help provide world-class medicine and hometown care. As the face of VCA, the Client Service Representative sets the tone for the practice as we build and maintain each customer's trust and confidence in our abilities.

Requirements

  • Experience in a customer service role, preferably in a veterinary or medical setting.
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy and responsiveness to clients and their pets.
  • Ability to work cohesively with a team.

Responsibilities

  • Customer service functions, including greeting visitors, answering telephones, and guiding clients and their pets to exam rooms.
  • Scheduling and confirming appointments.
  • Placing outbound calls for follow-ups and reaching out to prospective clients.
  • Presenting and explaining fees, including processing payments.
  • Recommending, selecting, and obtaining products and services, including prescriptions.
  • Answering questions regarding products and services, including educating clients on general animal husbandry and non-medical pet care.
  • Managing medical records, documentation, reports and correspondence.
  • Hospital maintenance, including removal of animal waste, cleaning and sanitizing common areas and exam rooms between visits, maintaining and adhering to infection control standards, and ensuring personal workspaces and the facility is neat and clean at all times.
