About The Position

Greenwood Veterinary Care is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The position involves a variety of responsibilities including pet restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases, administration of medications, and effective communication of treatment plans with clients. The role also includes surgical preparation and assistance, as well as anesthetic management. Candidates must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises and may be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases. Requirements

• Minimum of 1-year experience as a Veterinary Assistant preferred
• Compassionate, calm, team player
• Ability to multi-task and strong communication skills
• Ability to properly restrain pets
• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring are a bonus
• Self-starter with a desire to continue to advance knowledge and skillset
