About The Position

Since we are part of a 24-hour team, critical care nursing and surgical nursing skills are an asset but we are willing to expand the skills of the right candidate. We are a well-equipped facility with digital X-ray, ultrasound capabilities, and state-of-the-art diagnostic and surgical/monitoring equipment. Job duties include, but are not limited to: Triaging patients upon arrival to the clinic and obtaining patient vitals Experience with placing IV catheters and nasogastric tubes, monitoring patient blood pressure, general critical care triage and stabilizing process. Obtaining relevant information and history from clients and maintaining proper medical charts. Assisting in treatment and diagnostic procedures. High-quality emergency nursing care for patients. Requirements

  • An experienced and established veterinary assistant, 5+ years experience preferred
  • A high work ethic and positive attitude team member.
  • Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely.
  • Interpret medical records and record client history accurately.
  • Knowledge in preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow.
  • Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner.
  • Proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin.
  • Ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests.
  • Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs.
  • Proficient in anesthesia and surgical monitoring.
  • A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset.
  • Ability to receive in a professional manner constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in emergency medicine or urgent care is ideal, but not required.
  • critical care nursing and surgical nursing skills are an asset but we are willing to expand the skills of the right candidate.
