About The Position

We’re looking for a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our dedicated team. About the Role: As an Experienced Veterinary Assistant, you’ll be a vital part of our medical team, supporting veterinarians and technicians in delivering top-quality care to patients with a wide range of needs. Your day will include a mix of clinical tasks, client communication, and patient handling.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant (required)
  • Confidence in restraint, lab work, and assisting with procedures
  • Weekend availability (some shifts)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong multitasking ability and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with preventative care, surgical support, and clinic flow

  • Proficient in lab processing, radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring
  • A team-player mentality and willingness to support wherever needed
  • A self-starter attitude with a desire to keep learning and growing

Responsibilities

  • Safely and effectively restraining pets using low-stress techniques
  • Triage and intake of incoming patients
  • Collecting and processing lab samples (blood, urine, fecal, etc.)
  • Assisting with radiographs and diagnostic imaging
  • Administering medications and monitoring patients
  • Supporting nursing care for hospitalized and medical cases
  • Preparing patients and instruments for surgery; assisting in procedures
  • Monitoring patients under anesthesia
  • Communicating treatment plans and updates to clients with compassion and clarity
  • Must be comfortable with exposure to strong odors, loud noises, animal waste, bites, scratches, and potentially contagious conditions
