About The Position

Our Veterinary Assistants begin at an entry level position. A typical day requires lots of stocking and cleaning of the entire hospital. As the veterinary assistant learns the flow and ways of the hospital, progression to animal restraint and assisting of other support staff is required. You will at times also interact with pets and their owners; thus, customer service skills are key. You will work directly with the rest of our veterinary team to assure patients and clients receive the best care possible.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a high school degree or equivalent
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High work ethic and positive attitude
  • Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work
  • Computer skills are a must as it is a paperless practice
  • Attention to detail and ability to learn quickly
  • Exceptional customer service skills and precise communication
  • Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner
  • Self-starter with a desire to advance knowledge and skillset
  • Ability to receive constructive feedback professionally

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 1-year experience preferred
  • Flexible scheduling Monday through Friday
  • Willingness to grow in the Veterinary field
  • Avimark experience
  • Experience working in an AAHA accredited veterinary hospital

Responsibilities

  • Stocking and cleaning of the entire hospital
  • Progression to animal restraint and assisting other support staff
