About The Position

Bensonhurst Veterinary Care (BVC) is a small animal general practice located in Brooklyn, NY, open seven days a week. The hospital offers exceptional customer service and best-in-class care for pets, including wellness and sick exams, vaccinations, diagnostic testing, routine and advanced surgical procedures, dentistry, laser therapy, behavior counseling, and daytime emergency or urgent care. The position involves various responsibilities such as pet restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases, administration of medications, communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management. The role requires the ability to withstand unpleasant odors and noises and may involve exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases. Requirements

• Minimum of 1-year experience as a Veterinary Assistant preferred
• Compassionate, calm, team player, multi-tasker, and strong communicator
• Ability to properly restrain pets
• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring are a bonus
• Self-starter with a desire to continue to advance knowledge and skillset
