Requirements

  • Subaru-trained technician with current certifications preferred.
  • Valid State Inspection License required.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and meet productivity targets.

Responsibilities

  • Routine Maintenance & Repairs Perform oil changes, tire rotations, brake services, and fluid checks per Subaru guidelines.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
  • Subaru Diagnostic & Troubleshooting Expertise Utilize Subaru Select Monitor (SSM4/SSM5) and OEM diagnostic tools.
  • Interpret diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and resolve complex issues using Subaru service manuals and bulletins.
  • Video Multi-Point Inspections (MPIs) Complete thorough inspections using dealership-approved video MPI tools.
  • Clearly explain findings on video to help customers understand vehicle condition and recommended repairs.
  • Follow Subaru Technical Standards Perform all repairs to Subaru factory specifications, including torque specs, part replacement procedures, and software updates.
  • Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) Conduct inspections and system checks on new Subaru vehicles before delivery.
  • Maintain Certification & Training Stay current with Subaru technical training programs and certifications through Subaru University.
  • Customer Communication & Education Communicate technical issues clearly to service advisors and occasionally to customers.
  • Documentation & Compliance Complete repair orders, warranty claims, inspection forms, and MPI reports accurately.
  • Follow OSHA, Subaru, and dealership safety guidelines.
  • Team Support Assist other technicians as needed and maintain a clean, organized work area.
