About The Position

The Shop Representative will function within a team to assemble and manage the production from receiving parts to shipping finished machines. This role involves cleaning, prepping, and making ready machines for reconditioning, as well as teardown and rebuilding a variety of used Tennant equipment. The representative will perform housekeeping and 5S to keep the department clean, safe, and well organized, and will participate in continuous improvement activities. Troubleshooting and adjustments are required to build a quality product, and the representative will assist in all aspects of the reconditioning process while maintaining service-related documentation.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent
• Technical Degree within a related field from an accredited institution or 2-5 years of related mechanical assembly experience
• Must be familiar with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures within mechanical and electrical assembly
• History of continuous improvement within previous positions
• Related manufacturing experience is preferred
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Clean, Prep and Make Ready machines for Reconditioning
• Teardown and rebuild a variety of used Tennant equipment
• Perform housekeeping and 5S to keep the department clean, safe, and well organized
• Understand, participate and focus on continuous improvement activities
• Troubleshoot and adjust to build a quality product
• Perform on a minimum of models, as well as perform on other models
• Learn product through self-study and hands-on experience and guidance from Shop Supervisor
• Assist in all aspects of the reconditioning process
• Satisfy, in a timely and complete fashion, required service-related documentation
• Maintain company tools and equipment
• Perform in-process quality checks and communicate results
• Follow pre-established guidelines, procedures, plans and priorities as set by the supervisor
• Prioritize goals and rely on experience and judgment to plan work
• Take on new activities or special assignments when given
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Consistently present professional image, both in personal appearance and condition of company equipment
• Punctuality is a must for this position and individuals should have reliable means of transportation to and from work
