We are searching for the best talent for an Experienced Scientist, Cell Engineering and Analytical Sciences in Spring House, PA. The department of Cell Engineering and Analytical Sciences (CEAS) focuses on the development of the manufacturing monoclonal cell lines, and engineering pathways to improve product quality; supporting a wide portfolio of modalities. In the group Analytical Sciences group we currently have an open position for an experienced scientist within the biophysical team with a passion for characterizing molecular attributes using biophysical analytical tools for the best possible cell line to go into clinical manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in biochemistry; chemical engineering or chemistry is required.
  • Consistent track record of scientific excellence through external presentations.
  • Passionate to work in the lab and able to perform biochemical experiments in state-of-the-art laboratories, including experience with automation and data integration.
  • Demonstrated creativity and innovation in problem solving.
  • Hands on experience with on line cIEF/MS systems with proven ability to calibrate and run instrumentation, including preparing data reports for review and external presentations.
  • Knowledge and proven skill on creating and maintaining databases to track experiments and register experiments and manage workflows within digital software system.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, fluent in English both verbal and in writing.
  • Good soft skills, willing to challenge the status quo in a constructive manner suggesting alternative solutions for existing problems.
  • Ability to work in a team with various backgrounds is a must!
  • Knowledge of capillary electrophoresis, mass spectrometry, cell culture process including media supplementation.
  • Expertise or an interest in handling large data sets, artificial intelligence, molecular modelling and machine learning.
  • Process chemistry knowledge: scale-up and engineering aspects.
  • Oligonucleotide synthesis, carbohydrate and glycosylation fundamental understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize manufacturing monoclonal cell lines to support various modalities.
  • Engineer pathways to enhance product quality and consistency.
  • Characterize molecular attributes of cell lines using advanced biophysical analytical tools.
  • Support the selection of the most suitable cell lines for clinical manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve analytical methodologies.
  • Interpret biophysical data to inform cell line development and process improvements.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of experimental procedures and results.
  • Stay current with advancements in biophysical analytical techniques and apply them to ongoing projects.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of analytical workflows and protocols.
  • Support regulatory documentation and compliance related to biophysical characterization.
