The J6-1 Cardiovascular Stepdown Unit is part of Cleveland Clinic’s Heart, Vascular and Thoracic Institute and provides care to post-open heart surgery patients and telemetry patients who have undergone innovative and cardiac procedures, such as valve replacement/repair, aneurysm repair, Maze, radiofrequency ablation, pulmonary vein isolation, pacemaker and defibrillator implant/removal and robotic assisted surgery. J6-1 also cares for patients who are actively weaning from ventilator support. A caregiver in this position works 11a-11:30p or 3p-11:30p

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
External applicants: two years of recent related nursing experience.
Internal applicants with less than two years’ experience, but post orientation/90-day probationary period, could be considered with the Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval.
Will consider military RN experience.
