The J71 unit is a 25-bed cardiology stepdown telemetry unit that provide fast-paced nursing care to a select medical cardiac patient population that includes myocardial infarction, post cardiac intervention, chronic heart failure, dysrhythmia management and pulmonary hypertension. As an RN on our team, you will play a vital role throughout the patient care journey, providing expert, life-saving interventions while offering compassionate support that promotes safety, recovery, and a positive patient and family experience. In this role, you will work closely with patients and their loved ones, enhancing their understanding of their condition and treatment plan and ensuring they feel informed, supported, and cared for at every step. A caregiver in this role works a day/night rotation from 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. with weekend and holiday requirements.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and their families.
