About The Position
Northwestern Medicine is seeking Experienced Clinical Nurses within our Oncology Departments. This position is full-time, requiring 3/12 hour shifts, every other weekend and rotating holidays. The medical oncology unit is located on the 14th floor of Prentice Women’s Hospital, comprising a 36-bed unit with various medical teams. The majority of patients are solid tumor patients, along with lymphoma and gynecology oncology patients. Nurses will work within various phases of oncologic patient care, including new diagnosis workups, post-operative surgical care, chemotherapy/biotherapy administration, oncologic emergencies, and end-of-life transitions. The hematology oncology unit, located on the 15th floor, also consists of a 36-bed unit focusing on hematology-oncology patients, including leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. The stem cell transplant unit specializes in stem cell transplantation and performs 350-400 transplants per year, providing comprehensive care to adult patients with hematological malignancies. The role of the professional clinical nurse is essential to patient care, demonstrating advocacy, clinical expertise, community involvement, compassion, and professional engagement.
