About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking an Experienced Quality Engineer to support Air Dominance Proprietary team in Mesa, Arizona. This position may be located on either 1st or 2nd shift and follows a 9/80 working schedule. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future depending on the business needs. This position will be working on proprietary programs with senior Quality Engineers to support planning reviews, inspection planning development for automated programs, and be responsible for resolving large scale issues be developing metric plans with cross-functional engineering teams. Successful candidates will a technical background with strong communications skills with multi-disciplinary teams and an understanding of first-time quality and continuous improvement. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in data analytics and background in composites fabrication experience. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science or computer science
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or fabrication environment
  • 3+ years of experience using Excel to perform data analysis
  • 3+ years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

Responsibilities

  • Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
  • Provides Quality interpretation of requirements.
  • Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities.
  • Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
  • Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
  • Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances.
  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances.
  • Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
  • Works under general direction.
