Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking an Experienced Quality Engineer to support Air Dominance Proprietary team in Mesa, Arizona. This position works a 9/80 schedule! This position will be working on proprietary programs with senior Quality Engineers to support planning reviews, inspection planning development for automated programs, and be responsible for resolving large scale issues by developing metric plans with cross-functional engineering teams. Successful candidates will have a technical background with strong communications skills with multi-disciplinary teams and an understanding of first-time quality and continuous improvement. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in data analytics and background in composites fabrication experience.

  • Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
  • Provides Quality interpretation of requirements.
  • Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities.
  • Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
  • Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
  • Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances.
  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances.
  • Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
  • Works under general direction.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or fabrication environment
  • 3+ years of experience using Excel to perform data analysis
  • 3+ years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance
  • Experience in Model Based Definition (MBD)
  • Experience with Composites Manufacturing
