About The Position

Bergey's Inc. is seeking an experienced Parts Counter Salesperson to join their team at the Truck Center in Pennsauken, NJ. This full-time position focuses on providing exceptional service to customers by assisting them in selecting the required parts, managing orders, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Requirements

  • 2+ years of heavy-duty truck parts experience.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background checks and drug screening.
  • Experience with Mack, Volvo, or Cummins parts or service is a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in commercial truck parts sales.
  • Familiarity with body shop operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist all customers in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Inform customers of companion part requirements and specials, ensuring exposure to the full product line.
  • Answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
  • Review body shop estimates to ensure correct parts ordering and pricing alignment.
  • Provide high levels of service to internal and external customers.
  • Pull and fill orders from stock, notifying the parts manager of out-of-stock items.
  • Locate out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submit emergency orders if necessary.
  • Notify service advisors and customers when special ordered parts have been received.
  • Pull orders for delivery to the body shop, ensuring all parts are tagged correctly.
  • Follow up on back-ordered parts and verify will-call and back-order files weekly.
  • Replenish assigned inventory daily and assist outside sales representatives with their orders.
  • Ensure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair orders.
  • Receive payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization, ensuring all charge sales are signed by the customer.
  • Issue credit for returned parts, verifying original invoices or numbers.
  • Issue and track requested shop tools to technicians and keep orderly records of all repair orders and invoices.
  • Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up and solicit assigned accounts by phone.
  • Participate in all training programs and keep current on new products and updates.
