Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) is seeking an Experienced Mechanical & Structural Design Engineer to join the Air Dominance division in Hazelwood, MO . BDS AD Proprietary programs develop complex, highly integrated, advanced systems, enabling future growth for Boeing and our Department of Defense (DoD) Customers. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • Experience working with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software such as Siemens NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Fuel, Hydraulic, & ECS aircraft subsystems
  • Broad understanding of heat transfer concepts, heat exchange components, and/or air cycle systems
  • Able to summarize findings and develop conclusions documented with the Microsoft Office suite of software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
  • This position requires ability to obtain Special Program Access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with pneumatic, electro-mechanical, or analog / digital control systems
  • Experience with troubleshooting, fault isolation, repair, modification, or redesign of mechanical components and systems
  • Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design
  • Support the development, maintenance or modification of system, component and installation designs/proposals to provide design documentation to downstream groups
  • Perform and document analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
  • Contribute to supplier development, test and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals
  • Support system components' designs/proposals standards to provide installation and detail documentation
  • Train others
  • Work under general direction
