About The Position

Suttle-Straus is seeking an experienced Mailing Machine Operator to join our award-winning team. Requirements

  • Prior print shop and/or mail house experience is a plus.
  • Experience operating inserters, inkjets, and other mailing equipment.
  • General knowledge of US postal regulations.
  • High School education or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a mail inserting machine that mechanically inserts up to 6 pieces of collateral material into an envelope.
  • Set up each job according to job specifications and maintain established production standards.
  • Interpret and follow direction from a PrintStream work ticket.
  • Set up and operate a 6 station Bell & Howell inserter or a similar model from another manufacturer, postage meter, and tray banding equipment.
  • Set up and operate Video Jet Ink Jet equipment or a similar model from another manufacturer and tray banding equipment.
  • Work in a fast-paced production environment while standing for up to 8 hours a day.
  • Lift up to 10 lbs. repetitively and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Bend repetitively and work well with co-workers in a team environment.
  • Operate a computer-based insert matching system.
  • Support safety practices including the handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals.
  • Understand specific customer and quality-related job processes and detail requirements.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and routine repairs.
