General Carbide in Greensburg, PA is looking for an experienced, Machinist for second shift or third shift (shift differential for these shifts in addition to base pay!). General Carbide is a leader in the manufacturing of finished tooling and wear parts for customers in more than two dozen market segments. Our facilities include: HAAS, Mazak, Doosan, Kellenbergers, Rollomatics, CNC Lathe and Mill, EDM Wire/RAM; just to name a few. Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• 3-5 Years Experience as a Machinist
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
• Pass a background check and drug test.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, anything over 100 pounds or awkward should be lifted by 2 employees or mechanical means.
• Candidates must be willing to working the second shift. Training will take place during the first shift, and upon completion, employees will transition immediately to the second shift, from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Can set up and run various types of CNC and Manual Equipment.
• Has basic knowledge of “G” and “M” code programming and can write basic programs.
• Can interpret and edit CNC programs created by engineering when necessary.
• Efficiently operates multiple types of equipment with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and have a strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T).
• Is able to grind most forms required, maintaining specified tolerances.
• Responsible for tools and fixtures used in work area.
