The position requires the individual to reside within or be willing to relocate within a reasonable response time distance (approximately 15 minutes) from the reporting location. The role involves ensuring that trucks, tools, and assigned equipment are properly used and maintained. The individual will climb poles and operate out of a bucket truck, as well as operate and maintain all line equipment. Responsibilities include bypassing breakers in substations and downstream devices, performing transmission switching with Generation and Transmission providers, and providing training and leadership for Apprentice Linemen. Safety procedures and precautions must be followed at all times, and the individual may occasionally perform supervisory activities. The position requires satisfying callout rotation, duties, and responsibilities, and performing all necessary activities in the construction, troubleshooting, and maintenance of energized and de-energized overhead and underground distribution lines. The individual will patrol lines, identify, repair, or replace defective materials, equipment, or unsafe conditions, and notify the supervisor if necessary. The role requires being on-call and available to work weekends, holidays, and non-standard hours as needed. Maintaining professional working relationships with all employees, members, and vendors is essential, as is regular attendance and punctuality. The individual must use safe work practices at all times and handle confidential information appropriately according to the Bluebonnet Red Flag policy.
