The position is for an experienced CNC machinist specializing in lathe and mill operations. The role involves setting up and operating CNC machines to produce high-quality parts according to specifications, ensuring precision and adherence to engineering plans. The machinist will work primarily on the first shift and is expected to monitor machine operations, perform inspections, and document results to maintain quality standards.

  • Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and specifications.
  • Set up machine by loading it with the necessary tools.
  • Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, adjusting controls as required.
  • Verify conformance of finished workpieces to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
  • Operate equipment within a cell with multiple machines to produce high-quality parts.
  • Change inserts/tools and make necessary offsets to continue production per specifications.
  • Perform first piece inspections and monitor own work to meet process requirements.
  • Work from blueprints, process sheets, and sketches to perform production tasks.
  • Identify and repair minor machine malfunctions as needed.
  • Complete any additional duties as assigned.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a CNC machinist.
  • Experience on a Swiss Machine, preferably A20VII.
  • Ability to use micrometers, drop indicators, and dial/digital calipers.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with management and co-workers.
