The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance and Bombers (MS&B) organization is seeking an Experienced Landing Gear and Hydraulic Systems Design and Analysis Engineer to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City, OK. Position Responsibilities: Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design. Supports the development, maintenance or modification of system, component and installation designs/proposals to provide design documentation to downstream groups. Performs and documents analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Contributes to supplier development, test and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals. Supports system components' designs/proposals standards to provide installation and detail documentation. Trains others. Works under general direction. This position is 100% onsite in Oklahoma City, OK. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 5+ years of experience with mechanical systems
  • 3+ years of experience with hydraulic and/or mechanical control systems
  • 3+ years of experience with basic aerodynamics/fluid mechanics principles
  • 1+ years of experience working conceptual, preliminary and detailed design including 2D drawings and 3D deliverables
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Active U.S. Secret Clearance or higher
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering schematics, and specifications
  • Experience performing hydraulic / fluid system analysis, preferably using MATLAB and/or Easy5 software
  • 3+ years of experience designing tooling using CAD/CAM software, preferably CATIA
  • Experience producing technical reports and presentations
  • Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with engineering processes and methods
  • Experience working with cross functional teams
  • Experience with Model Based Development tools
