About The Position

The Shop mechanic will be responsible for the safe repair and diagnosis of various pieces of heavy equipment ranging from large cranes to mini excavators with some light automotive work. The successful candidate will primarily work in a shop setting with some travel required. This position is located in Derwent, Ohio. Bi-Con Services employees working in safety-sensitive positions are drug and alcohol tested under the federal DOT regulations. Testing is conducted for pre-employment, on a random basis (according to the requirements of DOT), reasonable suspicion and post-accident (according to the requirements of DOT.) Under DOT regulations, marijuana, whether with a medical prescription or not, is considered an illegal substance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years prior mechanic experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent qualification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Competent use of computer aided diagnostic software
  • Class “A” CDL License

Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe working environment
  • Travel to jobsites as needed to perform equipment repairs
  • Examine machines and perform diagnostic tests to determine functionality issues
  • Complete 101 inspections, work orders, and maintenance records
  • Monitor inventory and order parts as necessary
  • Preform DOT annual inspections in accordance with FMSCA guidelines
  • Ability to work on various makes and models of heavy equipment
  • Works well with others in a team environment
  • Welding and fabrication
  • Preform preventive maintenance on trucks, trailers, and equipment
