Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks an Experienced GPS IIF Software Engineer STARSim to join the GPS Block IIF STARSim team located at Schriever Space Force Base (SSFB) in Colorado Springs, CO. This position is on the Global Positioning System (GPS) sustainment program located at SSFB, about 15 miles east of Colorado Springs, Colorado. GPS is a satellite-based radio navigation system owned by the United States government and operated by the United States Space Force. GPS is the world's largest military satellite constellation and is the world's only global utility. It provides position, navigation, and timing data to military and civilian users globally with countless applications and an unlimited number of users. Boeing has over 45 years of history in GPS, to include achieving full system capability in 1995. The current Boeing GPS sustainment team supports the U.S. Space Force by sustaining and monitoring the health and capabilities of the 12 GPS Block IIF satellites in the GPS constellation launched from 2010 to 2016. The Boeing team also provides support to its U.S. Space Force customer with performance reporting and with expertise on all aspects of the GPS system. Sustainment efforts will continue through the life of the Block IIF satellites, with a design life expectancy of 2028 and beyond.
