About The Position

Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) is looking for an Experienced General Mechanic to join our Executive Fleet team in San Antonio, TX. This position involves performing efforts associated with flight controls installation, removal and rigging, landing gear servicing, and essential component change outs such as servo pumps, filters, and engine components. The mechanic will read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements to perform structural modifications and repairs. Additionally, the role requires accessing aircraft data via computer systems, maintaining necessary certifications, and prioritizing workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects. Safety is paramount, and the mechanic will use Hazardous Energy and Lock Out/Tag systems to ensure a safe working environment. The position also involves assisting other team members in various disciplines to meet cost and schedule targets, diagnosing and correcting malfunctions, and using precision measuring instruments to check dimensions and quality requirements. Physical demands include ascending and descending vertical work ladders, working in confined spaces, and lifting loads of approximately 35 pounds.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Depot Level/Heavy General maintenance.
  • 10+ years of experience with various aircraft exterior and interior systems including hydraulic, flight control, monuments, landing gears, fuel systems, and engines.
  • 10+ years of experience in working with blueprints, specifications, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures.
  • Experience accessing computer aircraft data.
  • Ability to work various shifts and/or an alternate baseline schedule that may frequently change to support mission requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience performing aircraft engine runs and engine borescope inspections.
  • Operate an aircraft tug/tow vehicle, forklift, mobile crane, and riding type electric powered elevating equipment.
  • Experience with REDARS and/or Gold-ESP.
