Requirements

  • Knowledge of gardening and horticulture: A strong understanding of plants, gardening techniques, and horticulture principles.
  • Customer service skills: Excellent customer service is essential as they will be interacting with customers daily.
  • Physical fitness: Ability to frequently lift, carry, and move heavy items such as bags of soil and potted plants.
  • Sales experience: Experience in sales or retail, responsible for selling products and meeting sales targets.
  • Plant identification skills: Ability to identify different types of plants and their specific care needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers in selecting the right plants and gardening supplies based on their needs and preferences.
  • Provide expert knowledge and advice on plant care and maintenance.
  • Ensure the garden center is well-organized, clean, and fully stocked at all times.
  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Collaborate with team members to create attractive displays and promotions.
  • Continuously expand knowledge of gardening techniques and new products.
  • Maintain a positive and friendly attitude towards customers and colleagues.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities provided by the company.
  • Actively promote and sell Ace Hardware's gardening products and services.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
  • Consistently meet and exceed sales targets and goals.
  • Handle any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the store manager.
