About The Position

The Forklift Operator position at IPEX Group of Companies involves operating various types of forklift equipment and performing essential warehouse duties in a fast-paced distribution center. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and efficient handling of PVC building materials to meet productivity and quality targets.

Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • 18 years of age.
  • Proven work experience & tenure safely operating forklifts, cherry pickers and high reach equipment in busy warehouse environments.
  • Experience in order picking, accurately packing, and staging loads.
  • Ability to use RF scanner technology.
  • Previous experience working in a busy distribution center is highly preferred.
  • Solid work history/tenure vs. job hopping is required.
  • Ability to meet daily timelines and work in an environment where assignments and work priorities are reviewed several times a day.
  • Comfortable using a harness and line yard, as well as comfortable with heights.
  • Good interpersonal skills; work well as a team but be self-motivated and independent at times.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly; ability to stand on your feet for the duration of the shift.
  • Able to read and write in English.
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, physical, and criminal background check is required.

  • Experience with FIFO principles.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklift equipment, cherry pickers, and high reach equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintain equipment and report malfunctions.
  • Perform warehouse duties including shipping & receiving, loading & unloading, and locating/relocating product within the warehouse utilizing RF scanner technology.
  • Accurately pick, stack, wrap and stage outbound freight (PVC building materials) ensuring that warehouse goals are met.
  • Implement work in the prescribed sequence so deliver-by-date is met.
  • Work proficiently to meet Productivity, Quality and Safety targets.
  • Load/unload trucks.
  • Maintain strict housekeeping standards in accordance with 5S protocols.
  • Report unsafe work conditions/environment in a timely basis.
  • Conduct cycle counts and stock replenishment.
