About The Position

Boeing’s Global Real Estate and Facilities organization is seeking an Experienced Facilities Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering and Technology (E&T) team in Ridley Park, PA . In this role, you’ll be part of a high-performing engineering team, where you’ll have the opportunity to grow your skills and collaborate with professionals across the U.S. You’ll play a key role in both day-to-day operations and long-term projects; ranging from overseeing urgent equipment repairs to supporting major planning and construction initiatives. Your primary focus will be supporting site electrical infrastructure .

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • 3+ years of experience reading and interpreting technical documents and/or drawings
  • 3+ years of experience working in an electrical engineering role

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 5+ years of experience with building and safety codes
  • 3+ years of experience leading construction projects
  • 3+ years of experience with lean processes and initiatives
  • Experience working in a production environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide input to infrastructure planning; complete studies; analyze current conditions and future requirements; recommend capital improvements; gather and analyze data; and work with both internal and external customers in order to identify and assess alternatives and impacts
  • Develop routine conceptual designs, final designs, cost estimates and provide maintenance support for the electrical phases of buildings, equipment installations, utility systems and grounds
  • Align electrical designs with customer requirements, building codes and applicable regulations by applying knowledge of construction principles, practices, and materials
  • Assist others to integrate the activities of multiple engineering disciplines, outside consultants and government agencies
  • Develop analysis to determine the cause of asset failures and reduction in asset capacity by using reliability tools and methods (e.g., life cycle analysis, condition-based maintenance, root cause failure methodology, mean time between failures, fault tree analysis, etc.)
  • Ensure accuracy of drawing archives/libraries
  • Support construction projects by providing input on vendor selection; reviews contractor proposals; interface with government/regulatory agencies
  • Prepare and present project information to ensure compliance with applicable construction documents and jurisdictional requirements and to meet project objectives
  • Use appropriate resources to produce project drawings, specifications, and permit application packages in accordance with project parameters
  • Translate customer requirements into design options with documents and estimates; identify appropriate materials, equipment, and services by applying engineering principles and methodology
  • Collect customer requirements; assist in the creation of contract scope; participate in conceptual design by analyzing intended use/occupancy and desired aesthetics, code research, and the development of preliminary design elements
  • Estimate resource costs/requirements, identify materials, equipment, and services, and develop preliminary project schedule in order to establish project scope
