About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team, specializing in insulation, gutters, and specialty construction services. The position involves analyzing project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate estimates for insulation, gutter systems, and specialty scopes. The Estimator will perform material take-offs, labor estimates, and equipment costs using estimating software or manual calculations. They will solicit and review pricing from suppliers and subcontractors, collaborate with project managers, sales, and field teams to develop competitive bids and proposals, and prepare and submit RFIs (Requests for Information) as needed to clarify the scope. Participation in pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project conditions and constraints is also required. The Estimator will maintain organized documentation and records of all estimates, quotes, and project files, monitor job cost performance, and assist in change order pricing as required. Staying current with industry trends, material pricing, and code requirements related to insulation, gutters, and specialty work is essential.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in insulation, gutter, or specialty trades.
  • Strong knowledge of construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Quick Bid) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred, but not required.
