Th e Engineering Technician will be part of a dynamic team at our Fort Carson, CO location. Serco supports the US Army as a prime contractor for their Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) contract which supports implementing capabilities that enable the service to employ Command Posts (CP) across the operational spectrum . Our team develops, integrates, and maintains modern and mobile solutions for an integrated CP infrastructure . You will be part of a team that works closely with the customer and other Serco functional area teams to deliver quality systems and associated supporting documentation . The team has been recognized by the Army Customer and the industry for their outstanding contributions to the contract and program . In this role, you will : Plan and p erform routine and non-routine hardware assembly and integration assignments of substantial variety and complexity that are typically part of broader assignments. Construct components, subunits, or simple models ; adapt standard equipment; troubleshoot and correct malfunctions Follow specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment Perform moderate to complex vehicle integration tasks to include cable routing, metal work installations, and technical support to integrate, install, modify , and perform upgrades in support of C5ISR systems Provide occasional assistance to related support areas including but not limited to kitting and warehouse operations U se, care , and maint ain crimp tools, heat gun, and various electrical and mechanical tools. Troubleshoot basic electrical issues for equipment installed/integrated in military vehicles Utilize various test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) ( i.e. multimeters, clamp meters, spectrum analyzers, etc.) Determine equipment malfunctions and apply skill in restoring equipment operation Fabricate or assist with fabrication of a variety of radio frequency ( RF ) , data, and power cables using solder ing and crimp techniques Assemble, integrate, and install various metal and electronic components Read and interpret technical drawings for fabrication and installation of commercial and custom metal and electronic mounts and components Apply your m echanical aptitude and experience with a range of hand and power tools Occasionally work in austere conditions (field environments) Travel to U.S. Army bases around the country to perform testing and maintenance on Army equipment installed by Serco Inc.
